Each candidate’s statement is presented in his or her own words and has not been altered by anyone at OneAZ Credit Union.

All primary account holders over the age of 18 with an account in good standing opened at least 90 days before voting starts are eligible to vote. Voting takes place February 21 - March 14, 2025 .

I am excited to express my interest in joining the OneAZ Credit Union Board of Directors. With over 25 years of experience in board governance and leadership, including advisory roles at Marisol Credit Union, Maricopa Community College District, and Community Development Financial Institutions, I bring a solid foundation in business, organizational development, and strategic planning. I am enthusiastic about contributing to OneAZ’s growth and long-term success. Throughout my career, I have thrived in diverse, collaborative environments and continuously focused on strategic leadership and effective stakeholder engagement. As a keynote speaker at conferences, I have developed communication and relationship-building skills that would support OneAZ’s goals. My deep understanding of corporate structures, along with my commitment to staying informed on financial trends, will allow me to make valuable contributions to the credit union’s mission. I am eager to help OneAZ achieve its goals and support its members. Thank you for your consideration.

Ed is current Board Director at OneAZ. He is employed as Chief of Legislative & Governmental Affairs at the Arizona Game and Fish Department and holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Northern Arizona University. Mr. Sanchez previously served as Board Director at Friendly House.

In my professional life at the Arizona Game and Fish Department, I work with a passionate team to conserve and protect more than 820 species of wildlife across our state. In the same way, as a OneAZ board member, it has been my passion to work directly with our CEO, executive team and the Board of Directors to:

1) Ensure that every OneAZ Member’s financial assets are protected.
2) Ensure that Members and their expected array of services are always priority one.

If I receive the honor of your support, it is my commitment to continue to advocate with the same passion and with a voice of experience on behalf of all Members while providing a cost effective, customer friendly and reliable credit union that meets your real-life, financial needs.

I respectfully ask for your vote to serve on the OneAZ Board.
Thank you, Ed

Carlos Velasco

Member < 1 year

Carlos is Founder | CEO of Velasco Consulting, LLC, DBA Novle. He serves as a Volunteer at Local First Arizona. Mr. Valasco is a graduate of the Small Business Leadership Academy at Arizona State University.

I want to serve on the OneAZ Credit Union Board of Directors to strengthen the connection between our credit union and the communities we serve. With over 18 years of experience focused on creating jobs, retaining young talent, expanding resources in rural areas, and supporting underserved communities, I’ve seen the gap in understanding the full benefits of credit unions and the vital role of local financial institutions.

I believe my background can help bridge that gap, ensuring our communities recognize how credit unions contribute to local growth and offer real value.

As the Founder and CEO of Novle, I’ve transformed my passion for multicultural outreach into a platform for change. My mission is to help build vibrant communities by fostering growth and economic vitality, helping organizations connect meaningfully with diverse markets.

I’m eager to bring my experience to the OneAZ Board to continue making a positive impact on Arizona.

Ryan Williams (Incumbent)

Member 12 Years Current Board Director Service: 6 years

Ryan is Board Treasurer at OneAZ. He is employed as Chief Economist at Enoda Ltd. and holds a PhD in Finance from Georgia State University. Mr. Williams serves as Board Member, Regulatory Policy Committee, for the UK Government.

It has been an honor to serve on the OneAZ board since 2017, and I humbly ask for your vote to continue representing you. Over the years, I’ve witnessed how our credit union positively impacts members and communities across Arizona, and I’m confident our best days are ahead. My background includes 10 years as a Finance professor at the University of Arizona (PhD in Finance), an international finance career in London, Paris, and Edinburgh, and roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Grant Thornton. Additionally, I’ve advised the Department of Homeland Security and FBI on infrastructure security and currently advise the UK government on AI policy. With expertise in finance, AI, infrastructure security, and audit/accounting, coupled with a commitment to community service, I bring a broad skill set to help us navigate today’s challenges in the macroeconomic, regulatory, and cybersecurity landscapes. I look forward to continuing to serve you.
